The short answer
How sales tax works on Clover in Canada: taxes are assigned per item (Quebec merchants typically use TPS/GST at 5% and TVQ/QST at 9.975%), and the Taxes report shows applicable sales and net taxes collected for any date range.
In this video
Step by step
1. Taxes are set per item
Open an item and look at Taxes and fees. This one charges TPS (GST) at 5% and TVQ (QST) at 9.975%.
2. No tax assigned means no tax charged
Clover warns that leaving this empty means taxes are not applied to the item. Check new items before you sell them.
3. The Taxes report
Finances, then Taxes shows applicable sales and net taxes collected for the date range you pick.
4. Match it to your filing period
Set the date range to your GST/QST filing period, then export for your accountant.
